Belgian shipowners’ association represents the interests of Belgian shipowners on national, European and international level. So far their main focus was on maritime innovation and sustainable finance but a couple of months ago Belgium government asked them whether they could also set up a think tank around autonomous/remote controlled vessels.
The goal of the think tank is to share knowledge, to connect people and to make sure that the legislator is aware of what’s going on technology wise so they can follow with updating legislation.
The Introduction mass-think tank event took place on January 27th, 2022, in Antwerp, Belgium. MOSES consortium partner CORE, and its representative Mr. Stefanos Kokkorikos, delivered a presentation on ‘Autonomous tugboats for efficient, eco-friendly and safe port‘.
